Xeno follows one of the first patients in one of the first Xenotransplant trial in the world. She has had living pig insulin producing cells implanted in to her abdomen in an attempt to treat her diabetes. They aren’t just any pigs, they have been isolated on the Auckland islands near Antarctica for over 150 years and are said to be the cleanest, least infected mammals on the planet.
